A Brides Sad Story
When we were keeping company, my darling Max and me,
We made all sorts of fancy plans for our wedding soon to be.
And Max my future hubby, to me one day did say:
" We ought to have some photo's of our memorable wedding day,
To keep for all posterity and enjoy along life's way."
" Hay, said Max I've got it! Let's not spend the dough,
No need to get a professional, let's get my Uncle Joe."
So I didn't shop the neighborhoods, looking for a pro.
Instead I got a guy "who's great"----I got his Uncle Joe.
( A wedding is expensive, there are many things to buy.
There is the cake and music and don't forget the rye.)
This then is my sad story, of sorrow and regret.
It's the story of my wedding day, a day I won't forget.
It's all about the pictures of that day we didn't get,
Not knowing what you pay for is usually what you get.
Joe came upon the scene that day with his camera and his lights.
Then he started taking pictures, and I thought, for once my Max was right.
Uncle Joe was so efficient, running here and everywhere.
He even took a drink or two and danced with cousin Clare.
( A day of scented flowers, of music and high hopes,
And all our pictures taken by a guy, " who knows the ropes.")
Soon two things became apparent. That we'd have a lot to show.
and no one enjoyed the wedding more than Max's Uncle Joe.
For when the day had ended and all the guests had left,
Uncle Joe remained behind and weaved from right to left.
He said, " no need to worry, I'm as good as any Pro."
" when it comes to taking pictures, you can trust your Uncle Joe."
So with bated breath we waited for the day he would say:
" Your pictures and now ready and you need not have to pay."
( A day of song and dancing for my friends and family,
A day of celebration for my darling Max and me.)
Then at last Joe came around to show us all the proofs.
And after seeing just a few, my temper hit the roof.
" Relax my dear, be calm." Said Max. No need to rant and hollar."
" After all Joe did his best and we saved the mighty dollar."
T'was a day we saved some money---true, we came out far ahead.
But in all our wedding pictures----the bodies had no heads.
And now the song is ended, and the wedding cake is gone.
The flowers are all wilted and the pictures were a bomb.
( A day of lifetime memories, a day we can't repeat.
No pictures of our wedding day in our album will we keep.)
So to all of you who read this, who are looking for a break,
Please get a pro photographer and skip the wedding cake.
My final word of caution, 'cause I think you'd want to know,
Is, I wish someone had warned me.......BEWARE OF UNCLE JOE!
